Feeling Unbalanced? Check Your Chakras
Do you ever feel like you’re missing out on a whole big part of your life? Maybe you’re feeling like you’re all work and no play, maybe you feel like you’re spending all your energy on helping family and friends. Maybe you have just been feeling like your life is a record on repeat, where every day feels the same. These are all examples of imbalances in your chakras that are playing out in your life.
When you have a gut feeling that you’re not yourself, it’s because you are experiencing some kind of imbalance. Your optimal is not being so obsessed with the progress that you forget to stop to smell the roses.
Balancing your chakras is essential to progress. It’s essential to having energy, health, and equal footing in the physical and spiritual worlds. Often when people first go through an awakening, their mind changes so quickly that they become imbalanced and obsessed with spiritual growth to the detriment of their own stability. Alternatively, people obsessed with security and stability lack a balance in their energy where creativity can allow them to see things more expansively.
So how do we get from imbalanced to balanced? Below is a list of the typical feelings you might have based on individual chakra imbalances. We’ve also offered a few tips to help you balance those chakras!
Check-In With Your Chakras
The Root Chakra - An unbalanced root chakra makes you feel you don’t have a handle on your finances or feel it’s hard to make what you need. You may feel that your home base is threatened or unstable. To balance this chakra, do squats daily as well as standing balancing poses in yoga.

The Throat Chakra - If your throat feels tense and you feel timid, or that you’re talking too much without thinking, your throat chakra is imbalanced. Plow pose in yoga can help you balance this chakra, as can neck stretches. Wearing blue crystals like lapis lazuli and aquamarine will help with this balance, as well as drinking plenty of water is very effective.

You know that song that goes, “your ear bone’s connected to your shoulder bone”? The chakras are very similar. A block in one chakra may mean that energy isn’t flowing to another chakra. Yoga can help clear all your chakras as well as getting a reiki healing session from a recommended practitioner. Often when I give reiki, one blocked chakra will not clear until I get the energy moving another chakra.

Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables helps keep your chakras balanced. If you are dehydrated or eating an unhealthy diet, your digestion will slow and affect all of your chakras. Often when you feel off, the first thing you need is water, the second thing is nutrients, and the third is a good stretch.
