Morning to Evening DIY Pamper Session: Isolation Edition

Morning to Evening DIY Pamper Session: Isolation Edition

With the world gripped in the pandemic of Covid-19, we find ourselves staying at home more, and some of us with more time on our hands. Anxiety and worry can be high right now, but there are also many positives we can take from this time too; especially if we can channel that extra time into some serious self-care.

When people think of ‘pampering sessions’ they may think of spas and treatment centers. But a pampering session can just as easily take place in the comfort of your own home!

In fact, a home DIY pamper session can be even more wonderful than a spa one. You’re the star of the show here – you give the facial, the manicure, you create the face mask and the homemade scrubber. You choose the music and you set the lighting.

So let’s see how you can take your self-pampering to the next level by going through different relaxation sessions you can undertake from morning to evening!

Morning

The morning is all about waking up and freshening up – so you want to start with something to get yourself ready for the day ahead. Below are things you can try for an amazing pampering morning routine.

Do a Quick DIY Face Mask

Making a face mask does not have to be a long, laborious, and complicated task. Some of the best face masks come from ingredients you just so happen to have lying around your kitchen. Try these amazing avocado face masks or banana face masks. You’ll be glowing in no time!

Start Your Day With Yoga

Yoga is a wonderful way to balance out your energies and leave you feeling ready for the day. Its mental and physical benefits are profound. Doing yoga even for just ten minutes a day can bring you into inner harmony with yourself and help you view things with clarity and objectivity.

A yoga mat is a great way to get started and there are some fantastic suggestions for yoga mats here.

Afternoon

The afternoon is a time when your mind is at its most active, so it’s important you take regular breaks and keep up with that self-pampering! Try the pampering techniques below to keep you feeling balanced and nourished throughout the day.

Treat Yourself with Healthy Comfort Foods

We like to treat ourselves and sometimes this can result in craving all types of unhealthy junk! Making yourself a healthy comfort food is a great way to feel good about yourself and satisfy your taste-buds.

Try mashed avocado and smoked salmon in a bell pepper, or healthy protein brownies. If you prepare several batches, you can feast on them in the coming afternoons too!

Add a Meditation Ritual

It’s a wonderful thing to try when breaking up your day. A specific ritual takes meditation to the next level! To do this, find a quiet spot in your home, dim the lights, light some incense if you have any, and put on some soothing meditation music. You can sit or you can lie back.

If you have any crystals then all the better! A meditation ritual can last between 10 to 30 minutes and in that time, let your mind drift away, embracing whatever thoughts flit through your head until you experience a sense of calm and well-being.

This is a fantastic thing to try, especially if you are feeling stressed or anxious. It replenishes your energies and nourishes you, propelling you forward as you meet the rest of the day.

Evening

As we draw into the evening, we are looking to unwind and relax before bedtime. Below are some of the best self-pampering sessions you can do for yourself as you enter a state of relaxation.

Take a Hot Bath with Essential Oils

A hot bath with essential oils is a wonderful way to wind down in the evening. Essential oils such as clary sage and lavender are particularly therapeutic. The essential oil should always be mixed with a carrier oil before placing a few drops in your bath.

Let yourself unwind for thirty minutes or so as you inhale the scents and feel peace wash over you. There are some great essential oils here.

Create a DIY face steamer

One of my personal favorites! If you don’t have a bath or don’t feel like submerging your entire body in water, then a DIY face steamer has a similar effect and can have an astonishingly relaxing effect on you. Simply fill a bowl with hot water and drop a few essential oils in it.

Breathe and rest for 15 minutes (make sure your nose doesn’t touch the water!) This is not only wonderfully relaxing but is also excellent for your skin, helping to unblock pores and maintain a youthful glow.

Keep a gratitude journal

This is a lovely thing to do just before bed. At the end of the day, pull out your journal and write down all the things you feel grateful for that day. There will always be something! Reflecting on things you feel grateful for can increase mood and happiness, preparing you for a peaceful night’s rest.

Conclusion

These are some of the self-pampering sessions you can try during isolation.

Remember, your mental and physical well-being is of the utmost priority. You are the creator of your own reality and how you choose to view it is down to you. Try some of these techniques and embrace the opportunities that await!
