Bored of the Same Old Workouts? Try This Killer One Instead!
Do you ever find yourself watching the clock, willing those seconds to tick by just a little bit faster? Let’s face it: Working out can be oh-so-boring! And if this sounds like you, it’s time for a new workout.
Maybe you’ve been searching for a new workout to try. But you have yet to settle on one that works or that you actually stick to. You’ve tried some of the new fitness trends, and you’re over them.
So.. what else can you do?
Try this killer one instead!
Your Quick, No-Fuss, & NEW Workout
It’s only natural to want to switch up your workout routine. After all, we all need something to keep us motivated. And if you’ve been bored, it’s time to try something new. Hopefully, this workout will be the exact amount of “newness” you need.
Getting Set Up
You don’t need a lot for this workout: just yourself, a timer, and some space. You’ll also definitely want to throw on some bumping beats to keep you motivated and to help the time fly by.
And don’t worry. You’ll be done with this one before you know it.
Warming Up
Warm-ups often consist of the basics like jumping jacks, air squats, or high knees.
So, let’s switch this up. (And hey, this might even be your ultimate fitness challenge of 2021.) But it’s time to let loose. Put on your favorite song and dance (I’m serious).
There’s mounting evidence indicating how dancing can improve not only your physical health but also your mental health. This warm-up will pump you up and help you ooze confidence.
Imagine no one is watching (the truth is they probably aren’t anyway!). Move to the music, however, feels best. Get through the whole song. I bet you’ll feel pretty good afterward. And you’ll be in the perfect state of mind to get moving a little more.
Work it Out
Certain types of exercises are super repetitive and super boring, especially if you’ve been doing them for quite some time. So, let’s trade out push-ups and squats and try a new workout and a new way to move.
If you can, get outside for this part. That fresh air and sun will do you a ton of good.
A word of warning: This workout is NOT super structured. You do as much or as little as you want. Basically, we just want you to move in a new way.

Sprint!
Now, set a spot a few meters in front of you. Give yourself enough room to sprint.
Run toward the spot you have your eye on, stop, then turn and run back. Do this for about 3- 5 rounds.
Then, stop.
Get Into a Plank
Get down and hold a plank. This means your forearms are on the ground. Your shoulders are over the top of your elbows. And your body forms a straight line from your head to your toes.
While holding this plank (do so for as long as you can and while you recover from your sprint), tap your feet out to the side one at a time. Try to count all the way to 20 if you can before dropping down from the plank.
Sprint!
Then, do those sprints again.
Once you’ve done 3-5 rounds, come back to the ground.
Get On All Fours
Get on all fours, which means your knees under your hips and your hands under your shoulders. Extend your right arm forward and your left leg back. Slowly bring them out from the body, then back to the center.
Do this for 5-10 counts before switching to your other side.
Jump!
Get back up!
This time, instead of sprint, jump. You can choose to do squat jumps or one-foot to one-foot jumps. Do what feels good. And either way, ensure you engage your core (through your abdominals) to protect your low back.

Bring Sally Up
At this stage in the game, you’ll want to download the song “Bring Sally Up.”
This workout was super short, but don’t let that fool you. This last piece is a killer!
In the song, they sing “Bring Sally Up” and “Bring Sally Down.”
You can do this song in a few ways.
The first way you can choose to do is squat down when you hear “Bring Sally Down” and then stand back up when you hear “Bring Sally Up.” See how far you can get into the song without coming up without hearing “Bring Sally Up.”
Alternatively, you can do push-ups for this part. When you hear “Bring Sally Down,” you go down into a push-up and hold. When you hear “Bring Sally Up,” come back up into a full plank.
This is a great one you can snag onto the end of any new workout you try. You can also challenge yourself here and do both the push-ups and squats. Mark down how far you get in the song, then try to beat yourself next time.
Afterward, make sure you grab some water and stretch it out! That wasn’t so hard, was it?
When You Get Bored… It’s Time for a New Workout!
Unfortunately, for optimal health, you can’t get away with doing zero movements. The human body needs it.
And every time I’ve tried to convince myself otherwise, I always come back to the same point: “I’ll feel better afterward.” And time and time again, this proves true. There’s no better therapy than exercise therapy!
So do this for you; to feel good and to live a long and prosperous life. It’s all about treating yourself right.
