But with the end of one year comes the promise of a new one, the gift of new beginnings and exciting possibilities that we can’t even imagine yet.

That’s right, the New Year is approaching, and most of us are in preparation mode for one of the greatest party nights of the year: New Year’s Eve - and with it, probably a few too many cocktails.

Guess what? You don’t have to go breaking the resolutions you haven’t even made yet, because we’ve got a list of delicious, low-calorie cocktails to prepare for your big New Year’s bash.

Watermelon Melonita

This is the perfect cocktail for those who like the refreshing flavors of watermelon and margarita combined. This drink pairs perfectly with chips and salsa, or really any appetizer you might serve.

Serving Size: 1

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lime
  • Mint
  • Raw Sugar
  • 1 1/2 ounce of tequila blanco
  • 1/2 ounce of Cointreau or other citrus liqueur
  • Watermelon juice (You can also puree your own watermelon at home.)

Preparation

  1. Rim a margarita glass with salt and fill with ice.
  2. Muddle lime, mint, sugar, and alcohol and pour over ice.
  3. Top with watermelon juice of your choice.
  4. Serve and enjoy.

Grapefruit Spritzer

This cocktail is great for those who don’t like sweetened drinks or are otherwise avoiding sugar. Nothing beats the refreshing zing of grapefruit with a fizzy punch and with less than 100 calories per serving, you can’t go wrong!

  • 2 ounces of vodka
  • Grapefruit-flavored seltzer
  • Lemon or lime wedge

  • 1 lime, halved
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 2 ounces of green tea

  • Brut champagne (or sparkling white wine)
  • Quartered Strawberries (chilled)

Preparation

  1. Place 2-3 pieces of strawberry in the bottom of a champagne glass.

Moscow Mule

While ginger beer isn’t exactly calorie-free, this cocktail is still relatively harmless compared to many that you’ll find circulating this time of year. (We’re looking at you, alcoholic eggnog.) You aren’t legally required to serve these in copper mugs, it certainly adds to the charm of the cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces of vodka
  • 1 ounce of lime juice
  • 1 (12 oz.) can of ginger beer
  • Mint and lime for garnish

Preparation

  1. Fill two copper mugs with ice.
  2. Pour vodka and ½ ounce of lime juice in each mug.
  3. Top with ginger beer and serve with mint and lime for garnish.
  4. Serve and enjoy!

The Bloody Mary

A classic. The Bloody Mary will never go out of style—it’s delicious, contains no sugar, and even sports some vitamins from those tasty garnishes and that zesty tomato juice. This recipe can be made even tastier and more low-cal by using Skinnygirl™ Cucumber Vodka.

  • 3 sprigs of rosemary
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of honey
  • 1 1/2 ounce of gin
  • 3 ounces of club soda/seltzer

  1. In your favorite cocktail glasses, muddle rosemary, lemon juice, and honey together.
