The Dangers of Buying Sexual Medications Online

The Dangers of Buying Sexual Medications Online

Today, you can do nearly anything online: from hiring a hitman to booking a holiday; finding a lover to getting a college degree. When it comes to healthcare, the internet has given so many of us access to information and services that we had never had in the past.

In recent years, registered online pharmacies that sell drugs for sexual dysfunction have become much more common. In fact, if you live in Europe or the USA, you can buy your medications using legal online pharmacies!

The logic is clear: sexual issues are a touchy subject, and many of us don’t seek treatment because we are reluctant to acknowledge our problem and allow others to know the nature of our struggle. Studies suggest that only about 5% of men who suffer from a sexual dysfunction actually seek treatment.

The upside is that more of us are getting treatment for issues that could otherwise make our lives miserable. The problem, however, is that in many cases, doctors and therapists have an important role to play in the therapeutic process, and getting treatment without consulting a professional may have significant downsides. On top of that, many sexual issues can be treated naturally, using behavioural treatments which online pharmacies have no incentive to offer.

In this article, we’ll look at 3 common problems that come with buying sexual medications on the Internet that you need to be wary of.

Problem 1: You’re Self-Diagnosing

Self-diagnosing in and of itself is not a bad thing. But it’s only helpful if you’re doing it correctly – which most people aren’t! After all, if Doctor Google was all that reliable, our MD’s wouldn’t have to go through so many years of medical training, would they?

People who are emotionally or sexually insecure are more likely to incorrectly self-diagnose themselves with sexual dysfunction. Porn use breeds this sort of insecurity. Why? Because the standards – for what one’s body should look like and how one should be able to perform in bed – are unrealistic. The sort of emotional insecurity caused by watching porn (or watching your partner get-off on porn) can lead to sexual performance anxiety.

For women, the combined effect of porn use and performance anxiety can cause diagnosable difficulties with vaginal lubrication and achieving orgasm. Men, on the other hand, are more likely to experience disorders such as Erectile Dysfunction (ED) or Premature Ejaculation (PE).

Problem 2: You’re Using a Drug Instead of Looking for a More Effective Solution

Drugs have been used for centuries to heal and improve the lives of millions. However, when we’re using drugs instead of readily available natural solutions, we might be at risk of suffering dependence or unwanted side effects. Moreover, in using medication we’re sometimes masking symptoms instead of tackling the root cause of the problem.

Sexual dysfunction can be caused by many psychological and/or medical factors. If the causes of your ED or PE, for example, are psychological rather than medical, taking a pill is not going to empower you to truly take control of your sexual dysfunction.

So, what’s more appropriate for the treatment of psychological sexual dysfunction? Evidence-based behavioural techniques for improving your sexual health.

Problem 3: You Don’t Really Understand How the Drug Works

Sexual dysfunction can be incredibly distressing and disempowering. It’s no wonder, then, that some of us are misguided into believing myths about drugs. Myths about Viagra and Cialis, for example are incredibly common. Some men believe that these drugs can be used to treat premature ejaculation by enabling them to keep their erection after ejaculation. This, however, is a myth.

If you’re a man, once you ejaculate your body goes into what’s known as a refractory period – a time for your body to cool-off and recover from the intensity of the orgasm. During the refractory period, you’re highly unlikely to be able to maintain an erection or be otherwise sexually stimulated.

If you want to learn more about why Viagra and Cialis are not the right solutions for premature ejaculation, read this article we wrote on this topic.

So, what does all of this mean? It means that many people are using the wrong drugs. Therefore, it’s important that even if you purchase prescription drugs online, you do it in a legal pharmacy with an organized diagnosis process that is supported by real doctors. This means that you should look for a place that would be honest enough to sell you the drug you are asking for only if is the right solution for you!

What’s the Solution?

We’ve outlined some of the major problems that are associated with buying meds online. But what can you do if you’re desperate to improve your sexual functioning? First, it’s important to take a step back and ask why it is that you’re so powerfully drawn to this supposed magic pill.

Is it possible that advertisers and the porn industry are playing on your insecurities? Are you being fooled into believing myths and misconceptions regarding what medication can or can’t do for you?

Whatever the case, it’s important that medications (such as Viagra and Cialis) are only used under medical supervision. If you’re desperate to change things in terms of your bedroom performance, speak to a doctor, psychologist or sex therapist near you, to make sure you’re informed about the safest and most effective treatment options available.
