It gets you to a place where you’re starting your Sunday off right. You pumped full of endorphins. You feel a boost of energy. Hey, maybe your sweat session will even set off a productive chain of events, getting you ahead in not just life but also in your week. What can you accomplish this Sunday?

Here’s another little tidbit: Morning people are actually much happier than non-morning people.

So, if you need a little fitness inspiration to get to that Sunday morning workout, convincing yourself you’ll be happier is a good start. Arguably, losing weight depends on a variety of factors. If you’re eating a bad diet loaded with low nutrients and high calories, you probably won’t reach your weight loss goals. But… exercising in the morning may contribute to getting you closer to your weight loss goals.

How? It gives your metabolism a nice little jolt first thing. And it also forces your body to use fat stores as opposed to blood sugar from carbohydrates recently consumed. The science behind this one is a little finicky.

Yet, one study did show that those who exercised around 7 am tended to have a 25% decrease in blood pressure. In turn, they actually had better sleep - who wouldn’t want that?

Self-Care Workouts You Should Try this Sunday

So, we’ve got the benefits down. But let’s not forget that exercise has a ton more general health benefits as well. Need a miracle pill? Start moving.

But what workout should you try on your Sunday morning?

If you aren’t a morning person, I recommend hitting up a fitness class, like spinning or a cardio group session. It’ll make you sweat and you won’t have to think twice about it. You just show up and follow along.

If you’re more of a morning person and you have an already existing fitness routine, why not try your Monday workout on Sunday morning? The gym is packed on Monday. On Sunday, it’s a little quieter. Get it done before your week has even started.

If you absolutely don’t want to leave your house… try a bodyweight HIIT, high-intensity interval training, workout. Look up a video on YouTube and get ‘er done!

Last but not least, if you really aren’t feeling it, maybe just go for a simple yoga routine. Sign up for an easy class or a soothing and restorative yin yoga class. The goal is to move and sweat just a little.
