How to Make Pull-Apart Garlic Bread

Do you like garlic? Do you want to get creative with your homemade garlic bread? This recipe is just the thing for you!

What’s not to love about a delicious garlic bread that you can make in the comfort of your own home? Pull-apart garlic bread is perfect served alongside a pasta dish. It can also be great at games nights as it makes a great finger food.

This recipe that I’m about to share with you will have your garlic bread game at its peak.

Not only does it require no bread knife to be able to enjoy a slice of bread, but you’ll also have no crumbs to clean up, you’ll have no uneven cuts. The pull-apart method will make your dinner a whole lot more interactive by pulling off pieces of garlic bread. This makes mealtime fun, easy, and mess-free.

My favorite part about this dish is how simple it is to make. This recipe requires most household ingredients, including flour, water, yeast, sugar, garlic, and butter. You probably already have most of these ingredients in your pantry and fridge!

This dish is also perfect for tight budgets.

This pull-apart garlic bread is also super nutritious and healthier than most store-bought garlic bread. You can always swap out a few ingredients to make it healthier if necessary, like swapping white flour for some wholegrain flour.

Now, let’s get into the recipe!

Bread dough in a glass bowl.

Step 2

Stir in the olive oil and then the water gradually. If the dough is too dry, add a little extra water.

Step 3

Knead for about 15 minutes. The dough should be firm, smooth, and should not stick to the edge of the bowl.

Step 4

Roll the dough into a ball, cover it with a cloth and let it rise for about 1 hour at room temperature. It must double in size.

Step 5

Finely mince the garlic and the flat-leaf parsley.

Step 6

Melt the butter in the microwave.

Step 7

Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle (about 0.5 cm thick).

Step 8

Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic and parsley.

Step 9

Cut large squares (I make 28) and place them in a round buttered cake pan placed vertically, overlapping the squares.
