How to Manifest Positivity in Tough Times

The mind has no direction of its own. It only follows certain threads of thought. The supermind, our higher consciousness, can observe and direct the mind. The more we practice directing our minds towards love, gratitude, trust in the Universe, and our true identity as a soul bringing light to the world, the easier it is for us to bring positive perspectives to negative situations.

An Inspiring Story
I currently live with a group of creatives in West Hollywood. We are chronically positive and the house has a very positive vibe because we constantly strive to build positive energy through our words and the way we support each other. In a conversation with one of my housemates recently, the power of positivity became very evident.
This housemate has been working as an events coordinator and is in his early twenties. His job is really only to pay the bills while he builds up his career in music and magic. He noted how the people he was working with were always complaining and grumpy. He said they were always talking about how things would be easier if they had more money, and everyone just seemed to be dredging through the day. Most of them were older men around 50.
He shared how he realized his co-workers’ attitudes were keeping them from doing what they loved and attracting opportunities. Their habit of thinking negatively kept everyone stuck in a cycle where negativity was all they could perceive. He knew he could use his attitude to shift his reality and surround himself with an inspiring group of people by being that inspiring person himself.
In the discussion, my housemate, who has a very positive, supporting, and loving demeanour shared that he was able to create an opportunity for himself in the music industry with a very well known producer and even got invited to one of the top places for magicians to perform. His story is relevant to all of us because there was one thing that allowed him to change his circumstances: his attitude.
Each morning he wakes up and reads an inspiring book, eats a healthy breakfast, and exercises. There is always a smile on his face and he is always one to offer a hug or say thank you to people when offered even the slightest bit of assistance in any way. He was brimming with positive energy which made him attract friends, opportunities, and the ability to shift his circumstances.
Techniques to Keep Yourself Positive
Affirmations are powerful statements that are used repetitively to alter your core subconscious beliefs and create new neural pathways in your brain. If you feel you’re not worthy of happy relationships, you can alter that belief by using an affirmation such as, “I am a loving and helpful person, people genuinely adore my company.” Or, if you felt like you were going through a really hard time after a breakup you could say, “I choose to be grateful for this lesson and I’m going to have a super positive and fun day.”
Use affirmations to help shift your perspective that things are too difficult or to get through deeply ingrained anger or pessimism. Tell yourself silently or out loud (or write in your journal), “incredible things are happening right now and life is easy.” This can help you see possibilities instead of closed doors. Our thoughts alter our perspective and create our emotional charges which attract things to us in the multiple dimensions of reality that are hard for most people to perceive.
Here’s another tip that will help and it’s totally free as well! I recently was speaking to a friend who was struggling with the emotional weight of a breakup. I told him I had just come from a year where every major part of my life exploded and it was the most challenging situation I had ever found myself in. I was tested beyond what I thought I could endure.
I did 30 minutes of Breath of Fire each day for months to rebuild my aura and nervous system. This shifted my energy field from negative to positive and allowed me to feel creative and optimistic. This practice filled my aura with prana and cleared out negative electromagnetic charges created by my subconscious mind.
Maintaining a healthy diet and exercise, reading books and applying the practices, doing kundalini yoga, caring for your emotional health by checking in, keeping healthy boundaries, and speaking with positive words and intentions will all build positive momentum to keep your vibration up when things are tough. Your mind will naturally gravitate towards loving thoughts because of the habits you’ve created.
Training yourself to live your life with a loving intention will keep you from feeling like a victim of your own life, blaming others or expecting bad things to happen. Ask your soul to help you hold a loving and compassionate intention and consider practicing kundalini yoga, which activates the upper chakras where these more positive emotions live.
