Many people get used to living in pain because they feel they have no option but to live a life of quiet desperation. As grim as it sounds, it is common for people to live with back pain every day or they have accepted that they will have joint and muscle discomfort because they have been diagnosed with some type of arthritic condition.

What they don’t know is that the pH of their body contributes significantly to inflammation and their susceptibility to sickness. While there is both conflicting evidence and controversy around this subject of alkalinity, the best way to determine a stance is to speak from experience.

The majority of the American diet is acidic and consequently, most people live their entire lives in an acidic state plagued by viruses at least once a month because they don’t know this one simple aspect of health.

It’s not in the interest of most large processed food companies to reveal this information either because people would stop buying their products. The same goes for most chain restaurants. And so the truth about alkalinity has been obscured, available only to those lucky enough to find the information.

Where Does Inflammation Come From?

Free radicals are caused by toxins. Those free radicals must steal an electron from a healthy cell to stabilize. Those cells are then damaged causing inflammation. When we do not have daily digestion and have constipation from lack of fiber and dehydration it further increases our acidic pH.

Thus, we experience muscle and joint pain from the free radicals that are trying to stabilize. Acidic stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline that are usually removed from the body through our filter organs get backed up when those filter organs are trying to process the rest of the toxins from our system that we get from our diet.

The lack of fiber in our diet slows our digestion causing acidic toxic buildup.

Easy Ways To Alkalize Your Body

Simply drinking two liters of alkaline water daily will make a huge difference in your health. It will neutralize help your pH, lower painful inflammation and increase your ability to ward of sickness. You can drink water with fresh lemon in it as well because lemon has an alkalizing effect on the body. Yet this can wear the enamel off of your teeth over time.

You can also get alkalizing water drops to use when you travel. Of course, there are bottles of alkaline water you can buy but that can become obscenely expensive. Luckily alkaline water stores are becoming much more common and you can fill large five-gallon jugs to save money.

Alternatively, you can install an alkaline water system in your house which is an initial investment of a few thousand dollars usually and then you would need to purchase filters yearly.

It’s important to realize that not all waters are created equal. City water is recycled through the water sanitation system and is acidic. Most bottled waters are also just bottled tap water. If you doubt this, you can get pH drops or strips and test it for yourself.

Acidic Foods

Sugar, caffeine, and alcohol are acidic and create inflammation in our bodies. That means soda and other sugary drinks are actually hurting you even though you don’t feel pain immediately when you drink them. It’s common for people to drink both coffee, soda, beer or wine on a daily basis which makes their body very acidic.

Foods that are acidic include meats, baked goods, breads, pastas, pizzas, fried foods, cereals, desserts, crackers, most cooked foods and processed foods. If someone eats waffles, sandwiches, and pastas with a dessert, for example, their immune system is already weak because of the acidity in the foods.

They will easily catch colds, flus and open themselves to long term illnesses as well. Research has also shown that dairy is acid-forming in the body.

Alkaline Foods

Essentially, eating a plant-based diet will help you alkalize thereby improving your digestion and immune system to reduce pain and sickness. If you get a majority of alkaline foods in your diet, your immune system will strengthen, your digestion will improve and your inflammation will significantly decrease.

The fiber alone will help your bowel movements become more regular which helps to reduce toxins from your blood that build up when we don’t digest at least every 24 hours. Raw greens are extremely alkalizing to your body.

A good goal is to make raw greens a part of every meal and at a bare minimum, you can at least be sure to consume raw greens once a day. This can be cucumber, celery, broccoli, spinach, kale, arugula, green beans, green cabbage, asparagus, etc.

Other alkaline foods are apple cider vinegar, garlic, onion, beets, carrots, fruit, avocado, and cauliflower. If your veggies are really cooked and smothered in acidic sauces, you’re kind of missing the point.

Conclusion

You can get tests to monitor your own pH. You will find scientific evidence on both sides of this argument so the best way to find the truth is to try it for yourself. Notice the health of people who eat a plant-based diet and drink alkaline water versus those who consume dairy, meat and processed foods.

The truth is not always popular because it’s not good for many businesses’ bottom lines. It’s not in their interest to let you know the truth. Many successful people eat plant based diets, especially those that have great health.

It’s important to note that your body will go through an adjustment as you begin to alkalize that can make you feel flu-like for a few days and the water will give you a metallic taste in your mouth for a few days or so as well so don’t be dismayed by it.
