Healthy Pina Coladas: Feed Your Body Friday

Hot, sunny days often lead to higher consumption of alcohol, cocktails, fried food, and seasonal fruits and vegetables. However, a change in lifestyle seems to be taking place; with people wanting more and more to enjoy these summer pleasures while taking care of their health. Thus, here is our healthier version of the Pina Colada!

The Pina Colada drink was invented by a Spanish bartender named Ricardo Garcia, over the years, the Pina Colada has become an international favorite. It’s the perfect cocktail to relax on vacation on a tropical island but also at home!

Who Doesn’t Like Pina Coladas?

So tasty, so creamy, so summery - and often times, fairly high in sugar. Not to worry, this healthier and lighter version comes to the rescue, so you can take it all summer without any guilt! The taste is practically the same the only difference is that it is a little less creamy than the original version. Instead of being made with just coconut cream, I added vanilla Greek yogurt.

The best part of Pina Coladas? The recipe can also be modified to not feature alcohol in it so that everyone can enjoy this refreshing summer drink! It’s just as delicious and kids will love the non-alcoholic version.
