Your Perfect Breakfast is Here: Caprese Avocado Toast

Avocado toast is still one of the hottest food trends out there. Countless cafes and restaurants have their version of this nutritious dish on the menu. But before you dismiss avo toast as a millennial trend, give this recipe a try right in your own home.

Making avocado toast is as simple as it gets: all you need is a slice of toasted bread with mashed or sliced avocado on top.

But what if your avocado isn’t ripe yet? What if it gets too ripe?

Once an avocado has ripened to your taste on the counter, stick it in the fridge, and it should keep for at least one week with no problem.

Looking to have it ripen quickly? Leave it next to a banana, and it will speed up ripening.

Once your avocado is ready, all you need is a few simple ingredients for a gourmet and nutritious breakfast.

An Avocado a Day Keeps the Doctor Away

Avocados are filled with a powerful nutrient cocktail of antioxidants, vitamin C, and vitamin E, which are all excellent for your body and for your skin. Plus, the high level of monounsaturated fatty acids can even help lower cholesterol.

On top of its health benefits, this recipe is great to use for scorching hot summer days. You don’t have to turn on your oven or stand next to a hot stove. Simply pull out your toaster!

You can also use other seasonal summer ingredients to make this dish your own. Try incorporating new flavors and other fresh ingredients.

Summer is about getting outside and making the most of nature, so get out of the kitchen and leave the complicated recipes for cooler days.
