How to Create Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt Popcorn

Are you planning on whipping up some delicious treats as Valentine’s Day approaches? Do you want to make the perfect snack that’s healthy too?

Whether you’re single or in a relationship, you are going to want to indulge in this delectable recipe.

Let me introduce you to my salted dark chocolate popcorn recipe.

I love how simple and quick this recipe is. The simpler, the better, in my opinion. This recipe only takes fifteen minutes out of your day. It requires only four ingredients, which are oil, popcorn kernels, dark chocolate, and of course, salt.

There’s also not a lot of steps needed for this recipe, five to be exact! Simply heat your oil and stir your popcorn kernels in evenly. Take the popcorn off the heat once the seeds have popped.

Place the popcorn onto a baking tray, microwave your chocolate, and mix in some sea salt. Lastly, coat your popcorn and serve. It is that simple!

Read on below to get your detailed instructions.

First…a Little Bit About Chocolate

You can absolutely use regular chocolate if that is what you have available. But the dark chocolate adds a rich bitter chocolate flavor that combines perfectly with the sea salt. I picked 65% dark chocolate, and I chose sea salt for the chucks of salt. I also chose to use coconut oil as it is super light and has a faint coconut flavor.

Dark chocolate also has many health benefits.

Dark chocolate is a high source of antioxidants and can help improve and motivate healthy brain functioning. It is also a natural sun protectant (make sure to apply sunscreen, though!) and decreases inflammation.
