Daily Inspiration for the Mind
An interesting new finding tied to anxiety, stress and sleep deprivation is called 'FOMO,' or, the Fear of Missing Out. This type of anxiety is seen in people who feel so uncomfortable without their smartphones and electronic devices, they start to stress out about missing what's going on. While we all like to keep in touch, this is seen more in those who are tied 24/7/365 to their communication devices, desperate to be in the know and included as much as possible.
While keeping that blue light going right before bed can contribute to trouble falling asleep, it has obvious other risks attributed to it. If you identify with this and feel genuinely concerned about your addiction to your devices, have a chat with your doctor. If you've just been a little more obsessed than usual, and are noticing your attachment taking you away from normal activities you enjoy, practice shutting down for a few hours a day, and especially before bed!
Every single person can access their intuition and life purpose through the practice of meditaiton. Meditation opens the mystical third eye which is known as the gateway to the soul and knowledge beyond the five senses.
A daily practice of meditation exercises different parts of the brain that become active when we meditate and strenghten our connection to our own intuition. We can develop a stronger communication line with our soul to hear what it is we came here to do through a regular practice of meditation.
This allows us to find what will truly make us excited to wake up in the morning. Meditation helps us shed the identity created by our environment and the ego that covers up our true loving purpose or it validates that what we always felt is indeed our purpose. Intuition increases our ability to know what is best for us to pursue and what is best for us to let go because the old saying is true 'all that glitter's isn't gold.'
You were meant to read this today. Here's how to feel confident right now.
Close your eyes and feel your inner love and kindness. Feel your energy radiating from your heart. Feel how others enjoy your company because of your love.
Wherever you go, no matter what task is at hand, your confidence comes from your intention to be loving, kind and positive. You are ready! You are smiling and ready to charge up some people with your exuberant vibes. That is your true value beyond anything else.
Over 5% of the world’s population suffers from depressive episodes. You are not alone. Try to connect with friends or family. Talk to someone. Take a mental health day when you need it.
There is no shame in knowing when you are struggling. Mental illness is not a sign of weakness. It takes a lot of strength to seek out the help you need. You are courageous. You are strong. And you will persevere.
How resilient would you say you are? Beating stress isn't about finding the miracle cure or avoiding your triggers at all other costs, it's really about learning how to react to it when it pops into your life. We are faced with stress from all angles, but if we can change how we view what's overwhelming in the first place, we'll be mentally and physically healthier.
Resilience is about dealing with stress in a positive way, so the trick is to remember that anything can be faced and conquered. Stress will never go away, but the way you react to it can be flipped on its head.
Here's a quick meditation tip to reduce anxiety that really works. Take a deep slow breath visualizing soothing light blue light with specks of gold coming into your body with your breath.
Slowly breathe out and visualize greys and dark colors that represent your negative energy leaving your body as you exhale. Watch the soothing energy go into each part of your body to relax it and you continue to breathe slowly and deeply.
Now visualize white light around your body with golden fractals of light. This is your soul that always has your back and connects you to the universal field of energy that you can call on for emotional support at anytime. See the white light shining from your body and connecting to the entire universe. In your mind see great things coming to you and people smiling at you.
Take one more inhale, smile and open your eyes. You have just changed your emotional state, activated the law of attraction in your favor and all in just a few moments of meditation. Meditation is your super power.
Daily Inspiration for the Body
Did you know that adding a little fat with your veggies helps the absorption of vitamins and minerals, such as beta-carotene in carrots? Not to mention unsaturated fats - olive oil, nuts, avocados and fish - which have positive effects on cholesterol and cardiovascular health.
Did you know you can self-impose a sleeping disorder? Psychophysiologic insomnia is one of the most common and difficult types of sleep disorder to treat. When you worry about not getting enough sleep, lying there thinking about it can start a cycle of sleeplessness and anxiety that can cause weight gain, stress and insomnia.
The next time you've had no rest, try not to stress about it when you get back under the covers the following night. Reading a book, having a warm bath and listening to music can help you stop thinking about sleeping, and actually give you some shuteye before you work yourself up into a larger issue!
Next time you fall into bed after a night of drinking and are amazed at how easy it is to head off to dreamland, consider these interesting notes on how alcohol affects your sleep. On the plus side, alcohol has a sedative affect on us, which is why in the old days, you'd hear people talking about a 'nightcap,' or a small dose of booze to mellow you out before you head off to bed. This effect can help you fall asleep faster, but it actually disrupts the tail end of your sleep pattern, where we get the most benefit from snoozing.
REM (Rapid Eye Movement) is considered to be the most restorative kind of sleep and turns out - alcohol blocks REM. With less of that restorative sleep, we tend to wake up unfocused and a bit out of it. When it comes to your nightcap - less is more in the way of zzzs.
Did you know that almonds contain 15 essential nutrients including calcium, magnesium and vitamin E? About 30 grams of almonds bring us almost 65% of the recommended daily intake of vitamin E, an antioxidant that protects our cells against stress.
Spirulina is a superfood that contains a large number of nutrients, from a small volume. It is especially famous for providing excellent quality proteins, iron, vitamins and minerals. This is why we call it "The richest food on the planet."
Big surprise! Turns out not getting enough sleep leads to...sleepiness and fatigue! We all know what it's like to lurch out of bed after a night of tossing and turning, or just after staying up into the wee hours to finish that page turner. Once in awhile, it's not likely to do much damage if you turn off the lights an hour earlier the next night, you're feeling back to normal by mid week, right?
Keep an eye on this habit if you start to notice more long term effects like headaches or general fatigue. We're talking fatigue like you can't even bear to walk up the stairs when the elevator's out because your energy's so low. You might be advancing into real sleep deprivation and that's much harder to bounce back from.

Any exercise where your head is below your heart (an inversion) allows blood to flow to this energy center to help stimulate and activate it.
Do you feel disconnected from the world or depressed? You may have a blocked crown chakra but luckily there are some easy ways to open it and feel a sense of purpose and support from the spiritual realms.
You can eat foods that stimulate your crown chakra such as maca root, coconut, garlic and mushrooms or even wear white crystals like skolecite, quartz crystal and phenacite.
Finally, placing your head on the ground in a headstand or doing breathing exercises like deep breathing or breath of fire can help raise your energy up to the crown chakra located at the top of your head. Even wearing white and gold clothing can get you into the higher frequency of this chakra or listening to music in a higher octave can as well.
